In a considered decision, and after extensive interview questions, the Port Arthur Mayor and City Council members have entered into contract negotiations with Port Arthur's Interim City Manager, Mr. Ronald Burton. Mr. Burton comes to the table with several years of service with the City of Port Arthur, with positions ranging from Assistant Director of Planning to a newly-created position of Director of Development Services, to his current position as Interim City Manager.
His responses to interview questions covered his accomplishments in each of the positions held, including his first week of employment dealing with two hurricanes. His tenure has also encapsulated the creation of a GIS Division, and extensive work with economic development. We wish Mr. Burton a hearty, "Congratulations!" on his appointment as the chief administrator for the City of Port Arthur.
