[ARCHIVED] NOTICE: Port Arthur Health Department: Flu Shots Available

Flu flyer 11202019The Port Arthur Health Department held its annual Drive-thru Flu Clinic for individuals aged 19 and older on October 26, however, flu season is an important time for all individuals, and exposure to the disease may become fatal for those suffering from a weakened immune system, or who may be carriers of the illness. The Health Department encourages all to get the flu vaccine yearly, to stop the spread of the flu to family members, friends, coworkers, and/or schoolmates. Although special clinics are offered once every year, the flu vaccine is available to all, any day of the week.  The cost of the flu shot is $15.00 dollars for all adults, 19 years of age, or older. Children from the age of 6 months to 18 years old may receive the flu shot for $10 if their insurance covers the flu vaccine, or, may qualify for free flu shots if they meet any of the following criteria:

  • Must not be a CHIP recipient
  • Is enrolled in Medicaid
  • Under-insured or no insurance
  • Flu shot not covered by insurance

The Health Department administers the flu vaccine in the health department daily, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
