The Bloomberg Harvard Leadership Initiative equips mayors and senior city officials with leadership skills and management tools to tackle their coties' complex challenges and improve people's quality of life. Mayor Thurman Bartie received a Certificate of Completion from the Bloomberg Harvard City Government Initiative after enrolling into classes online, joining mayors and city leaders across the world. 

In addition to receiving his certification, Mayor Bartie also was doubly honored this year as the recipient of the Panhellenic Council's honorable Humanitarian Award. The Humanitarian Award honors individuals who have demonstrated an ability to reach out and support and assist and "who truly go above and beyond for the betterment of our community."
