Thank you, Veterans!

The City of Port Arthur wants to thank all veterans for their service to the United States! City Hall will be closed and public services suspended in observance of Veterans Day, November 11, 2021. Please join us in this day of acknowledgement of our U. S. Veterans.

"Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary marking the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 making it an annual observance, and it became a national holiday in 1938." RELEASE NUMBER CB20-FF.10

The City of Port Arthur will observe this federal holiday to honor our veterans on Thursday, November 11, 2021. City residential and commercial solid waste services will be suspended on that day. 

Please be assured that we will resume residential routes on Friday, November 12th, and any unfinished garbage routes will be picked up Saturday, November 13, 2021. is a Trusted Site
