The Women, Infants and Children Program is a federally funded supplemental food and nutritional program for pregnant, postpartum and nursing mothers, infants and children up to the age of five years in which selected food items may be provided on a monthly basis.The main focus of the WIC program is to educate parents/caregivers on the proper nutrition for babies and young children. In addition to nutrition education, WIC clients also receive breastfeeding support and education, supplemental WIC foods and referrals to other health and social services.
